Robots in Healthcare. Visit to Danish hospitals using robots.
In healthcare, logistics Robots perform the delivery and transportation tasks to free clinical staff to focus on patient care. Hospitals move a lot of materials through hallways, on elevators, in basements and to patient units. This is a complex logistics challenge that has implications on costs and quality. Automating delivery of this material generates savings, efficiency and worker satisfaction.
Within healthcare telemedicine is another rapidly growing field. The aid of telepresence robots is quickly gaining use in hospitals around the world. In rural hospital settings where a medical specialist is physically unavailable, a robot can be deployed to check in on a patient with a physician from elsewhere. In the home, a nurse can check in with a patient while they recover in a comfortable setting.
On this tour we will visit some Danish hospitals to learn from their experience and to see how they have implemented robots in the hospitals. We will leave from Odense in the morning and the tour will end at 5 pm in Odense.
Hospital Sønderjylland in Sønderborg/Jutland. Logistics in a hospital. Hospital in Sønderjylland will show how they use robots in logistics to transport medicine (MiR100).
Sygehus Sønderjylland in Aabenraa/Jutland. Use of telemedicine and robots for logistics. In this hospital logistics robots are used to transport used items from around the hospitals to the kitchen.
